Erin Lawless Memorial Award for Team of the Year

2020-05-22

The Minor Pee Wee Team are the recipients of the 2020 Erin Lawless Memorial award for team of the year.

This trophy was dedicated in memory of Erin Lawless who passed away on September 12, 1991 at the age of 6 years from aplastic anemia while awaiting a bone marrow transplant. Erin was a grade one student at St Marks in Prescott. She loved school and all sports especially figure skating and attending her brother’s hockey games for the King’s association at that time. Erin was precocious, carefree, high-spirited little girl who had a great zest for life. Always smiling and cheerful, Erin showed unbelievable strength, courage, dignity and a sense of humour through her illness. She was an inspiration to all who knew her.

Erin’s family has donated this memorial trophy to the Rideau St. Lawrence Kings Hockey Association for the “Team of the Year” to honour Erin’s memory and spirit.  The team of the year chosen for the Erin Lawless Memorial Trophy is recognized for its integrity, sportsmanship, fair play and best represents the Kings organization both on and off the ice.

Congratulations!
