The Rideau St. Lawrence Kings have contracted Mr. Mike Horan, as Player Development Coordinator for the 2009 – 2010 season.
Mike Horan
Mike is a highly motivated hockey person, having played, coached, managed, instructed, educated and refereed for over forty years. Mike’s involvement in coaching and instructing has encompassed all levels of hockey from minor hockey to semi-pro.
Mike has been diligent in his continuing hockey education that began in the early 1980’s that included completing the Advanced II (formerly Level 5) certifications, Certified Level II “Theory” from the Coaching Association of Canada, numerous coaching workshops and symposiums. Mike continues to be in demand to evaluate, instruct and coordinate various levels of hockey within the Eastern Ontario area.
Mike leads by a positive attitude and is dedicated to successful team building. His extensive coaching resume and the accomplishments he has achieved over this time is a testament to his passion for the game. This experience will be a valuable asset to the King’s program and he looks forward to the continuing development of the entire organization and players.
Lisa Sloan Leeder
Lisa comes to the Kings organization with 24 years of coaching experience and is the owner of Upper Canada Power Skating. Lisa is the power skating instructor for the OHL’s Ottawa 67’s and has worked for the NHL’s New York Islanders, Ottawa Senators and Philadelphia Flyers. She now instructs individual players for various professional teams and agents.
Over the years, Lisa has worked for numerous minor and youth hockey associations throughout Ontario and the United States as a coach, a coach mentor, and a program consultant. She founded Upper Canada Power Skating Hockey Development Camp, which has been operating for 12 years. Her work now is focused on offering specialized clinics and training sessions.
Lisa is committed to the advancement of sports, the development of athletes and the improvement of associations. Her qualifications, experience and passion will be a valuable asset to our program.
Dan Armstrong
Dan played at Lakehead University for the Norwesters (in the United States). Lakehead University now plays in the CIS and are called the Tunderwolves.
Dan has been the goalie coach at 3-S hockey school for the last seven years, working with Phil Myre (Florida Panthers). Dan was the goalie coach last season for the Upper Canada Cylcones. Dan has worked with several winter and spring season over the last 18 years. Dan is currently a scout for the Kingston Voyageurs Tier II Jr. A hockey team. |
